Composites Engineer

This position is offered as APS Level 4-5 Science & Technology Level 3 Or APS Level 6 Science & Technology Level 4 dependant upon qualifications & experience

Duties:

The DSTO Science and Technology (S&T) Structure allows flexibility at most levels, where work is recognised in terms of Research, Professional, Technical and Science & Technology Management job elements. For this position, work is expected to occur as follows:

• Research 40%

• Professional 40%

• Technical 20%

The successful candidate will be part of the Aircraft Materials Branch in Air Vehicles Division and will also interact with staff in other DSTO Divisions, the Australian Defence Force (ADF), universities and Defence contractors.

The successful candidate will, under general direction from senior staff, undertake tasks including research into the life assessment and repair of composite and bonded structures; design, manufacture and mechanical testing of composite and adhesively bonded specimens; and professional support to research projects.
