DSTO's Industry Experience Placements involve undertaking a fixed term placement (length can vary) on location at one on DSTO's main sites. You will be allocated a discrete project, which you will be expected to report on at the end of the placement.
The primary objective is to provide promising tertiary students with a means by which they fulfil the formal requirements of their degree whilst gaining invaluable experience in research.
Selection of students will vary depending on the host division's particular requirements. To be eligible to apply you will need to be undertaking the placement as a compulsory requirement of your tertiary degree, be an Australian citizen, and successfully undergo a security clearance.
These opportunities are generally organised by DSTO divisions through university faculties; so talk to your faculty to see if they have contacts within DSTO. Limited placements may be posted among the job vacancies section, which is regularly updated.
