- TTCP Logo
Vision:
The expression Open Architecture Systems is widely used and widely claimed within the defence community. But what is an open system, why do customers specify openness, how do suppliers build open systems, how do we measure/test openness, and what are the S&T challenges in delivering open systems?
This Pan-TTCP Open Architecture Systems workshop will set about answering these questions and provide a forum where professionals from the TTCP nations can explore this principle. Specifically, this workshop aims to:
- Acquaint the participants with the state-of-the art and state-of practice in open architecture systems;
- Identify the key science and technologies that underpin open systems;
- Explore the mechanisms for specifying and procuring Open Architecture Systems;
- Share open systems technology directions in TTCP nations;
- Uncover the challenges in delivering and accepting open solutions to military customers;
- Identify open architecture system activities and issues that are common across the maritime, land, air and joint; and
- Identify topics for future collaboration within TTCP.
Who should attend?
- Government scientists and engineers
- Government procurement officers
- Military capability planners
- Industry and academia researchers in open system technologies (see note below)
The workshop is open to government military and civilian employees from the TTCP Nations. Selected industry and academia may also attend with prior approval from the workshop organiser. Professionals from industry or academia wishing to attend the workshop should be working on a relevant government project and will need to be sponsored by a government official (email the workshop organiser for further details).
