To coincide with National Science Week, Defence Science and Technology Organisation (DSTO) will celebrate 70 years of Defence Science at its Fishermans Bend site, and plans to launch its enhanced Air Operations Simulation Centre.

In addition the DSTO is again sponsoring a $10,000 Australian Museum Eureka Prize for Outstanding Science in Support of Defence or National Security.

The Eureka Prizes reward excellence in the fields of research and innovation, science leadership, school science and science journalism and communication.

The DSTO-sponsored prize, along all other Eureka Prizes, will be presented at a gala dinner in Sydney on 18 August to the entry that has developed, or has the potential to develop, innovative solutions that can be applied to advance Australia's capabilities in defence or national security.
