Increasingly, mechanical devices whether fixed systems, land vehicles, marine vehicles (including submarines) or aircraft (including helicopters), are being managed using various Condition Monitoring (CM) or Condition- Based Maintenance (CBM) approaches. All these approaches rely on health (condition) and usage monitoring systems and are most suited to ensuring availability, reliability and safety of critical and high-value assets.
The DSTO series of International Conferences on Health and Usage Monitoring is an established conference in this area and has been run in conjunction with every Australian International Air Show since 1999. Since 2005, it has also formed part of the Australian International Aerospace Congress.
Accordingly, HUMS2009 formed part of the Thirteenth Australian International Aerospace Congress (AIAC13) and included sessions at the Australian International Air Show. All submissions of abstracts and papers were be handled electronically via the AIAC13 website.
32 formal papers and 6 demonstration/informal presentations were presented. More than 60% of these were by overseas presenters.
Conference details and conference documents will be available from the right-hand column of this page at least until the end of June 2009.
It is currently proposed that HUMS2011 will be held in conjunction with the 2011 Australian International Airshow. Details will be announced by an email newsletter closer to the time. A newsletter will be sent at specific times during the lead up to the conference. You may subscribe to this newsletter by clicking here.
