DSTO Academic Scholarships

 

Scholarships in Engineering or Telecommunications

Six scholarships, each to the value of $2,000 are awarded annually to selected students undertaking Electrical & Mechatronic, Electronic & Microengineering, Computer Systems Engineering or Telecommunication programs at the University of South Australia.

Scholarships for Mathematics

The Hypatia Scholarship Program for Mathematically Gifted Women offers financial assistance and the possibility of vacation employment. 

Up to five scholarships are offered annually to full-time female students who enrol in the Bachelor of Applied Science (Mathematical and Computer Modelling) or the Bachelor of Information Technology (Computing and Mathematics) at the University of South Australia in the School of Mathematics and the Centre for Industrial and Applicable Mathematics.

Awarded on academic merit, the scholarships are equivalent to the Higher Education Contribution Scheme (HECS) fees for the first year of study and may include vacation employment at DSTO.

They may be continued for subsequent years depending on the satisfactory progress of the student and availability of funds.

Applicants should submit their Year 12 record, a letter of recommendation from their Mathematics teachers and a short essay on why the program suits their career goals.
