The C-130 Hercules transport aircraft has the longest continuous production run of any aircraft in history and recently celebrated 50 years of service in Australia.

Used by No. 37 Squadron of the Royal Australian Air Force for air logistic support, airborne operations, special operations, aero-medical evacuation, search and rescue, and disaster relief, the C-130 is the work horse of combat airlift.

DSTO plays an important role in keeping Australia’s Hercules aircraft flying. From maximising the effective structural life and improving its survivability to minimising the interior noise and vibration, DSTO has experts working on many aspects of the aircraft’s structure and performance.
