The Centre for Cognitive Work and Safety Analysis (CWSA) is a research centre located within Air Operations Division of the Defence Science and Technology Organisation. The Centre for CWSA specialises in the development of theories and methods for the analysis of cognitive work and safety in complex systems and in the application of these techniques for system design and development.
The Centre's researchers have expertise in key CWSA techniques such as Cognitive Work Analysis, AcciMap Analysis, and Cognitive Task Analysis. Using these techniques, they provide advice to the Australian Department of Defence that is aimed at enhancing human performance in complex military systems. Their research is important for the operational success of complex military systems in the Australian Defence Force.
The Centre for CWSA welcomes opportunities for collaboration with industry and academic organisations, including industry attachments and graduate studies for individuals. They would also like to hear from individuals interested in short-term or part-time research positions with the Centre.
